Necromancy
Necromancy is a very controversial magic in Sentient communities. Some argue it is morally neutral, as there are naturally occurring examples of undead creatures that can be used to justify its practice; while others find the entire thing a horrifying insult to the gods and the natural order of life and death.
While the majority countries in the explored territories have banned necromancy entirely due to its controversial nature, most countries on the continent of Aurn’la allow the controlled reanimation of animals. However, there is no country in the explored territories that allows the reanimation of Sentient or Mystic corpses, even if they allow the reanimation of animals; though there are arguments that, if someone consents to their body being used for necromancy after their death, it should be allowed.
It is also known many Mystic communities have their own practices involving necromancy magic, and it is generally agreed that it is inappropriate for Sentients to get involved unless the bodies of Sentient people are being used.
There are many different kinds of necromancy that have been discovered, which create all different types of undead creatures. However, all creatures made with necromancy will fall under the three categories of undead: conscious, neutral, and dangerous. No matter what other laws there are regarding necromancy in a country, it is generally agreed upon that creating dangerous or conscious undead is not allowed due to ethics issues.
