Skibbit
A solicitous race native to the floating islands of Kel’di, the skibbits live in peace with the cinguls and the keaps in a joint culture known as the Skystepper people, or the Skystep Trinity.
They are the tallest of the Skystepper people, standing around 70cm to the top of their head, though they are roughly the same size as the keaps and cinguls and their added height comes from their bipedal nature.
More humanoid in shape than the counterparts, the skibbits are covered head to toe in short, wiry fur and have paw-like hands and feet with retractable claws. They have large ears, giving them exceptional hearing, and thick bushy tails that provide them the balance needed to safely travel across small outcroppings in their cave homes without falling.
They have sharp canines with flatter grinding teeth similar to a frugivore, though they are able to supplement their fruit diet with an assortment of different foods ranging from edible grasses to poultry.
Their fur can come in a large variety of colours, with both complicated and simple markings. They are very rarely a single plain tone, usually having at the very least one or two facial markings or a lighter underbelly.
They are very sturdy race, and often act as the muscle of the Skystepper people. This, combined with their upright stature, often leads to them becoming the builders of their culture and they take pride in their ability to create and decorate.
Though the keaps, skibbits, and cinguls all share a religion and culture with one-another, they are considered Mystics due to Skystepper beliefs being a closed practice that they do not allow others to participate in. They mostly avoid travelling to other parts of Demrefor, keeping as much to the floating islands as possible, and by their own preference do not integrate into Sentient society. Despite this, they are friendly people who often welcome travellers to rest the night within their homes.
