Dream Mastery
The existence of dream mastery magic is heavily debated, especially in religious spaces. Modern convention breaks dream mastery into two separate magics (known as dream walking and dream whispering), rather than viewing them as one, but a branch of the Starku religion known as the Old Learners still believe that they are intrinsically linked and should not be separated. Dream mastery is considered by most to be dated and inaccurate information, but due to its connections to a still in-practise religion, it is classed as unconventional instead of controversial.
Because of the magic’s reputation as being outdated, people who consider themselves dream masters are becoming increasingly rare. However, those that do claim the title of dream master practice the magic in a way rather different from dream walking and dream whispering; because they practice both the magic of walking and whispering, they are able to combine them in very interesting ways.
Like dream walkers, a dream master is able to sleep by a person and walk within their dreams as if they were their own; and like a dream whisperer, when they are awake, they are able to influence another’s dreams. Of those that retain the title of dream master, most will claim the ability to influence a dream while walking within them. However, this is difficult to prove true for a large variety of reasons, including but not limited to a lack of impartial volunteers willing to let a stranger inside their head.
Some dream masters claim to have a supernatural connection with spirits and believe they are able to walk amongst the dead in the afterlife as they sleep; though this is often dismissed as them simply tapping into soul magic or aura sensing abilities that they possess alongside their dream magic.
