Misfitted - Don’t Lose Hope #2
‘Yi,’ Stars confirmed. ‘My name used to be something else, back when I was a Har’py. But now it’s different. Just like I am.’
It is nearing four months since Stars had her Little Demon, and two months since she moved into her new home. Things are going well. They are all finally safe. Her baby is healthy. And they are establishing a routine; they feel more like a family than Stars has ever known before.
But something is off. Something they can’t seem to fix. An air of grief still hangs over them like a looming black cloud. People in the street still stare. She doesn’t fit in. Not like she did with the caravan. Despite the city being large and crowded, friends seem to be few and far between.
She’s lonely. Even though she knows she is loved deeply, she still feels so unbearably alone and lost. And nothing she does seems to ease the ache in her heart that follows her, asking her the same question over and over and over:
Ka’harja could save her. He never even hesitated. So why did Demon’s father leave her behind?
