‘Hah, idiot,’ Ka’harja teased. ‘That’s what you are, aren’t you? Stupid!’
It has been a year since the fire that destroyed Ka’harja’s home, and things are finally starting to feel right again. His family is growing; his younger cousin studies at his side and Stars is close to term with her second child.
But, still, his heart aches to see Coff. And he knows that Stars is restless to walk the roads again. So when the Lyzik caravan passes through Kokako Boaka to check on them, the pair decide to take up with their friends and travel together once more.
It’s not easy. There are many, many things that can go wrong. And many that do. Together, though, they persevere. Together, they heal. And together, they grow.
And, this time, when cruelties from the past return in an attempt to take more victims, Ka’harja has something besides himself to fight for.
